Josh Windass scored twice for Accrington Stanley at the weekend to get Rangers fans even more excited about the midfielder’s imminent move to Ibrox.
Windass, son of Dean, agreed to move to Glasgow during the January transfer window, joining Mark Warburton’s side on a pre-contract agreement with team-mate Matt Crooks.
The move prompted controversy at the time, and Rangers were slammed by members of the Accrington hierarchy, but few supporters will care if he can replicate his recent form for the League Two side in Scotland next season.
Whilst his future team-mates were preparing for their Scottish Cup showdown with Celtic, Windass was in action for Accrington against Morecambe on Saturday, netting twice in the 2-2 draw.
The first goal in particular, as you can see from the clip above, stands out as a pretty decent strike.
The 22-year-old shows the pace, power and precision which led to Rangers’ interest in the first place, as he smashes the ball into the far corner.
His second goal may be from the penalty spot, but he manages to show calmness, and composure beyond his youthful years.
Rangers fans – what do you make of the goals? Are you excited to see Windass next season?
