Pressure has reached an all-time high for the Norwegian manager following his side’s 5-4 penalty shootout defeat to Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden.
As well as being a poor result against their bitter rivals, the Celtic supporters are unhappy with the performance of their team and the exit meaning they can only win the Premiership this season.
And many are calling for him to be sacked and a new man brought in.
The Scottish manager garnered more support than anyone else on the eight-man shortlist, just beating out Celtic legend Henrik Larsson and former player Roy Keane as his closest rivals.
Moyes was most recently at Real Sociedad, but lasted just a year in Spain before being sacked after disappointing results this season.
But he’s a former Celtic player with experience of managing at a high level in Britain and it’s that connection to the game here that seems to be appealing to Hoops supporters.
