Celtic and New Balance have revealed the club’s new home kit for the 2016/17 season.
This is the second home strip created by New Balance since they became the club’s new kitmakers last summer.
It’s part of their ‘Like No Other’ campaign, which will also see Liverpool, Stoke and Sevilla get new strips going into next season.
According to celticfc.net, the new home kit has taken some inspiration from the 2003 UEFA Cup final defeat to Porto as well as Hoops legend Tommy Burns:
“The green gradiant Hoops are designed to evoke the nostalgia of the 2003 UEFA Cup final. The iconic words ‘A club like no other’ as spoken by legendary Celtic player, coach and manager Tommy Burns are displayed on the back neck tape and to the inner hem.”

The club played it pretty safe with the selection of players used on pictures of the new release – with goalkeeper Craig Gordon and defenders Erik Sviatchenko and Kieran Tierney being three stars who can hold their heads high as they approach the end of a disappointing season.
Brown is involved as captain and leader of the team and is pretty happy about what he’ll need to appear in alongside his team-mates next season.
He said: “The famous green and white Celtic jersey, and now with gold trim, is a continuous reminder of the hard work, dedication and success that makes this club so great.
“It is a fundamental and iconic part of our history. It’s great to see the jersey looking so fresh with this new design for next season. I know all the players will feel proud to wear this kit.”
It’s likely this new home kit will be worn against Motherwell at home on the final day of the season before it gets a more regular outing through pre-season and then the new campaign under a new manager.
The full range of New Balance Celtic FC Home kit products are available to pre-order globally from Thursday, May 5, and will be available in stores on Friday, May 13.
