Celtic fans must be tearing their hair out tonight as Efe Ambrose has yet again provided another one of his comical displays, this time against St Johnstone.
The Nigerian defender has become something of a cult hero during his time at Celtic Park mainly due to fans feling sorry for him and laughing at his own expense but tonight’s error which led to the home side’s winning goal at McDiarmid Park has crossed the line for some supporters.
The Hoops took the lead through Leigh Griffith’s 40th goal of the season before a Stefan Johansen mistake allowed St Johnstone to get back into the game.
But it was Ambrose who would have the final say as he challenged stand-in goalkeeper Logan Bailley to an empty cross, clashing with the Belgian and allowing Graham Cummins to tap in for a St Johnstone winner.
The result means nothing for either side after Celtic clinched the league title on Sunday in a 3-2 win over Aberdeen but fans are still furious at their centre back following another dreadful performance.
