The Belgian striker is coming off the back of one of his best seasons in football, scoring 25 goals and making six assists in all competitions for the club.
But he’s not content with playing his best football at Goodison Park and appears unwilling to stick around and see what progress new owner Farhad Moshiri makes with a new manager and new players.
Lukaku is with the Belgium national team as they prepare for Euro 2016, but spoke yesterday about his desire to leave Everton to ‘win trophies’ and write himself a CV.
He’s already spoken before about leaving, as has his dad, and that certainly hasn’t endeared him to a group of supporters already frustrated at how the team performed towards the end of the season.
With Lukaku publicly pining for a move, Everton fans haven’t taken kindly to his most recent comments and, judging by the reaction on Twitter, plenty will be happy to see the club get rid of him this summer:
Everton fans – what’s your reaction to Lukaku’s comments?
