The Serbian striker’s second-half sending off was the only downside in a great performance and result for Newcastle against Tottenham.
Rafa Benitez’s men might be down, but they at least went down with a highly satisfying 5-1 win over former title challengers Tottenham.
Mitrovic actually got on the scoresheet in the Premier League clash and had played well up until he was sent off in the 67th minute.
It was a pretty brutal challenge, one which could have broken Walker’s leg had it not bent and allowed Mitrovic’s studs to slide down his shin.
He’s taken stick all season for his bad temper and ill discipline – and today’s no different, with fans who have seen the tackle echoing Matt Le Tissier’s call for a big ban for Mitrovic:

Luckily for Mitrovic, Walker wasn’t seriously injured and his team were able to go on and win the game 5-1.
But he’ll certainly face a summer of uncertainty as the club rebuild for life in the English Championship.
