Granit Xhaka Likes Photo of an Arsenal Shirt With His Name and Squad Number

Borussia Monchengladbach captain Granit Xhaka has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal over the last few weeks.

And the midfielder has now given a significant hint that he may be ready to join the Gunners.

As is often the case when a player is linked with their club, Arsenal fans have been keeping a weathered eye on Xhaka’s Instagram, Twitter and Facebook to see whether he is open to signing for Arsene Wenger’s side.

And the Emirates faithful were given a huge lift this morning, as Xhaka liked a picture of an Arsenal fan wearing the club’s home shirt, featuring the Swiss international’s name and number:




It’s a bold move from the supporter in the picture, as Xhaka’s move hasn’t been confirmed by either Borussia or Arsenal yet.

Bundesliga expert Raphael Honigstein even claims there has been a bit of a twist regarding the transfer:

It’s also unclear whether Francis Coquelin, who currently wears the number 34 jersey, would be willing to give up his number for a new arrival.
