Some Hull fans squared up to Richard Keogh following their play-off semi-final victory Derby tonight.
It was an eventful night at the KC Stadium as the home side welcomed Derby with a 3-0 advantage from the first leg.
County could have been forgiven for thinking the tie was over after their awful result on Saturday, but they came out swinging in the second leg, scoring through Johnny Russell’s opener after seven minutes.
They didn’t rest there, adding a second on 36 minutes when Andy Robertson turned Marcus Olsson’s cross into his own goal.
And all of a sudden the pressure was on Hull who had to recover from a spirited Derby fightback.
Thankfully for Steve Bruce’s heart, his men managed to hold on to beat Derby 3-2 on aggregate and advance to the Wembley showpiece on May 28.
The Hull fans were quick to invade the pitch at the full-time whistle, with most going on to congratulate their players and celebrate.
But some made a beeline for Derby captain Keogh – and at one point it looked like the player could have got into something serious with a fan:
Keogh was led away by team-mate Chris Martin as the Hull fans went bonkers around them and he’ll now need to pick himself and his team up over the summer to recover next season.
As for Hull, they play Wednesday for a place in the Premier League and will need to perform much better than tonight if they’re to get that.
