Jurgen Klopp Destroys Villarreal Manager Marcelino in Post-Match Press Conference

Jurgen Klopp watched his Liverpool side blow Villarreal away to reach the Europa League final on Thursday night – then aimed a brutal insult at the Spanish club’s manager.

The two clubs met last week in Spain with Villarreal winning 1-0 in added time, and Jurgen Klopp was furious with the La Liga club’s over-the-top celebrations.

The German coach warned his opposite number Marcelino that the tie was only half finished and promised a big performance to overturn the deficit at Anfield.

Liverpool’s players delivered in spades, and goals from Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana, as well as an own goal from Bruno, saw Klopp’s men romp to a 3-0 victory.

And afterwards, despite being delighted with the victory, the pair continued their squabble via journalists in the post-match media conferences:

Wow, harsh words from Klopp, but he’s in the Europa League final, what does he care?!

Liverpool now face further Spanish opposition in the final, with current holders Sevilla awaiting. The match will be played at Basel’s St. Jacob’s Stadium on May 18.
