Leicester Thank Carolina Panthers For English Premier League Congratulations

Leicester and the Carolina Panthers have enjoyed an unlikely online bromance this season.

As star quarterback Cam Newton and the NFL franchise stream-rolled their way to a Super Bowl 50 spot, the Foxes were regularly on hand to send them good luck and congratulations messages with the Panthers more than happy to send some back on return.

While the Panthers were surprising everyone in America, Leicester were shocking the world as they continued to lead the English Premier League despite their pre-season status as relegation contenders.

Unfortunately for Carolina, they were beaten by the Denver Broncos to the Super Bowl – to the dismay of many fans keen to see them record their first ever championship.

But Leicester didn’t have any problem completing their success story, managing to seal the Premier League title this week with two games in hand.

The Panthers were quick to offer their congratulations to Leicester with this tweet:

And Leicester obviously appreciated the continued support:

Carolina’s message came amid the millions of congratulations sent Leicester’s way in the aftermath of Tottenham’s decisive 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Monday night.

A whopping 5.5million tweets were sent around the world as their title win was confirmed:

That Leicester responded at all suggests this Foxes-Panthers bromance is going to continue well beyond this season.
