Newcastle and Clyde Feature in the Best of Saturday’s Bets

Newcastle and Clyde Feature in the Best of Saturday’s Bets

Here we go again, the weekend has arrived and the season is coming to an end.

Play-offs have kicked off in Scotland’s lower leagues while England is moving a step closer to theirs so this week’s tips form a treble combined of selections north and south of the border.

First up are re-born Newcastle who are on an excellent run of form..

Last week’s win over Crystal Palace moved the Toon outside the relegation zone and this week they face already relegated Aston Villa. It’s a game which Rafa Benitez will be targeting all three points from as they continue their bid for survival. Newcastle are at 13/20 to add more misery to Villa, and going into the game on a four-game unbeaten run, you can’t look past Rafa’s men to do just that.

Next is the bid Saturday lunch-time kick off between Middlesbrough and Brighton…

It’s a straight shoot-out for the Premier League so I can understand if you were planning to avoid this, but hear me out. Brighton must win at the Riverside to earn promotion while Boro just have to avoid defeat as they have a greater goal difference. It’s bound to be an exciting match, but also nervy for all involved. Significantly, the home advantage for Aitor Karanka’s men will mean they’ll be the one’s celebrating at the end of the day. The draw is available at 23/10 and looks value, but 11/10 for Boro to win is my bet.

Last up is the Scottish League One play-off second leg between Elgin City and Clyde..

The Bully Wee take a 3-1 advantage north following their midweek first leg victory. However Jim Weir’s men have an impressive home record and showed that on the last day of the regular season by hitting four past Arbroath. Elgin will believe they are still in this tie and, with home advantage at even money, they look a good bet to win the match and give themselves a chance of earning a spot in the play-off final.

The treble is available with Ladbrokes at 9.89/1.

As always, all the best with the weekend bets and give us a follow on Twitter @talkingbets to let us know how you get on.
