Grant Hanley has been linked with a summer move to Rangers, but the Ibrox faithful are far from impressed.
The Blackburn Rovers centre-back is now 24-years-old and has been playing with the English Championship side since graduating from the club’s youth team in 2010.
But, interestingly, Hanley joined Blackburn as a teenager from Rangers, after spending two years in Govan as a youth-team player between 2006 and 2008.
And today, Times journalist Graham Spiers reckons current Gers boss Mark Warburton is keen on bringing the imposing defender back to Glasgow for the club’s tilt at the Scottish Premiership next season.
Mark Warburton wants to bring Grant Hanley to Rangers, but would require a major fee. In today's Times.

Rangers’ defence has been the one area that has come under scrutiny at times throughout this season, so it’s entirely plausible that the club are considering options to freshen up their back line.
But is Grant Hanley a realistic prospect?
Not only does he play in English football, but he now has 21 caps for Scotland, and is likely to cost a few quid in a transfer fee and wages.
It’s fair to say that a lot of supporters aren’t too willing to push the boat out for Hanley:
Grant Hanley for #Rangers. Honestly, Cliff Hanley is a better stopper … pic.twitter.com/5oqnnBMvdI

Safe to say the £28k a week Grant Hanley will not be a Rangers player next season. Dearie me.

In 1996, Rangers' implausible transfer targets were Ronaldo and Jardel. In 2016, the implausible target is Grant Hanley. How times change

Grant Hanley is a diddy. And anyone who thinks he'd take a pay cut in excess of £10k a week to play here is a bigger diddy.

So far today Ive seen fellow bears call for a Rangers backline of Hanley Terry & Bougherra for next season 🙂 pic.twitter.com/MN18tcxBrl

The thing is that Hanley "story" would be completely hilarious if the meaning behind it wasn't so transparently contemptible and sinister.

£3m for Grant Hanley plus £28k wages per week?
???
Next!

Don't know what's more hilarious. That Grant Hanley actually gets nearly £30k a week, or that Rangers think they can remotely afford that.
