Up until Monday night’s draw with Chelsea, which handed Leicester City the Premier League title, Tottenham were considered serious contenders for this year’s trophy.
However, with Spurs having failed to keep their title challenge alive, one Arsenal fan was quick to taunt the club’s Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen this week.
The cheeky Gunners supporter took a video of himself approaching the former Ajax skipper, before asking him for a selfie.
Yet, when the 29-year-old looks up, the cameraman says, “Tottenham winning the league, yeah? You’re having a laugh,” before breaking into a Red Army chant:

Needless to say, Vertonghen wasn’t very amused by the ambush and remained silent throughout the short clip.
The centre back forged a strong partnership with Toby Alderweireld this season, a major reason why Spurs were able to keep pace with Leicester for so long.
However, Mauricio Pochettino’s side couldn’t sustain their push for top spot and host Southampton this weekend looking to increase the gap between themselves and third placed Arsenal.
