Northampton Town sealed promotion to League One last month and are currently 12 points clear of second-placed Accrington Stanley.
And what better way to celebrate than by drafting in NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal to serenade the supporters with a rendition of Queen classic “We Are The Champions.”
No, seriously, this actually happened.
Wearing the club’s scarf, O’Neal gives a nod to Northampton’s chairman Kelvin Thomas by singing the hilariously improvised lyric – “Kelvin Cobbler champions”.
O’Neal had featured in a Northampton video earlier this season, as the former Laker wished the Cobblers luck in their race for promotion.
And with the club certain to play League One football next season, O’Neal was more than happy to congratulate the club.
O’Neal was listed at 7 ft 1 in and weighed around 325 pounds during his career – making him the heaviest player to ever to play in the NBA.
Shaq was also a four-time NBA champion, which surely makes him the biggest and most-famous Northampton fan on the planet?
