If you’re not Scottish, you probably can’t contain your excitement for Euro 2016.
If you’re Scottish, you’ll be looking forward to a month and a half of football watching some of football’s best players and drinking a lot of beer.
But it’s a little disappointing that some of Europe’s top talent won’t be in France for the competition – and we’re not talking about Leigh Griffiths or Lee Wallace.
No, a number of quality players won’t be there for a host of different reasons.
Take Spanish quartet Diego Costa, Fernando Torres, Santi Cazorla and Juan Mata for example. All four have missed out on the Spain squad looking to defend their Euro title.
Then there’s Italy – with Antonio Conte either deciding to, or being forced to, leave out Marco Verratti, Mario Balotelli, Claudio Marchision and Andrea Pirlo. Andrea Pirlo?!?! How can you do this to us, Antonio?
Germany, England, France, Belgium, Croatia and Russia are other countries denied the talents of some of their best players.
