Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to make the highly-anticipated announcement over his future later today.
The 34-year-old Swedish superstar is a free agent since leaving PSG at the end of the season and has been strongly linked with joining Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
But while Ibrahimovic and United both remain tight-lipped on any potential deal for the former Barcelona and Inter Milan striker, others have publicly expressed their desire to work with him next season.
Adebayo Akinfenwa has taken to Instagram today to plead with Ibrahimovic to help find him a new club.
The out-of-contract forward, also 34, has been freed up after Wimbledon refused to offer him a new deal.
Akinfenwa – who is somewhat of a cult hero for his incredible strength and physique – helped his old side win promotion to League One by scoring from the spot in a 2-0 play-off final win over Plymouth.
The big striker posted: “Yo @iamzlatanibrahimovic where u playing next season, I mean we both on a free, so put in a good word for me wherever you end up. You can pace & power I’ve got straight power #ScaryStrikeForce.”
It’s ambitious from Akinfenwa but you certainly can’t blame a guy for trying.
