Aston Villa are preparing for life in the Championship where they will come up against old rivals Birmingham City as they aim to put a disastrous couple of years behind them and get back to the Premier League.
The former European Champions were consigned to second-tier football for the first time since 1987 and lost their status as one of the original six clubs who had never been relegated from the Premier League.
But their glorious history is on the back-burner for the moment as they set their sights on a quick return to the top flight under the leadership of Champions League winning manager Roberto Di Matteo.
Of course, Villa won’t witness the same riches they did in the Premier League this season and it’s believed that one or two high-paid players could be on their way out to balance the books.
But there is another way the Birmingham club will rack in funds and that is through their fine list which has been leaked online.
Among the usual fines such as missing club appointments and turning up in the wrong clothing, players will also be hit in the pocket if their phones are not on silent while out in public places and having dinner.
Stars will also be fined for wearing jewellery during training and if they do not inform a member of medical staff they are ill more than an hour in advance of training.
Imagine the amount this guy must fork out …
