Conor McGregor Goes Nuts With Facebook Tribute as Republic of Ireland Beat Italy

The Republic of Ireland did unthinkable tonight as they beat Italy to secure their place in the knockout stages of Euro 2016.

A dramatic late header from Robbie Brady secured all three points with the 1-0 win ensuring Martin O’Neill’s side progress in third place.

Brady celebrated scoring the goal of his dreams with his family who were in the crowd.

And millions of Irishmen and women around the world will be doing the same tonight.

One high-profile fan who shared his delight after the match was UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

The MMA superstar – from Dublin – posted a congratulatory message on his official Facebook page after the final whistle – and hailed Brady for his winner.
