Joey Barton v Stan Collymore Takes a Serious Turn With Insults

Joey Barton v Stan Collymore Takes a Serious Turn With Insults

Joey Barton and Stan Collymore are still arguing on Twitter following the former’s comments about the latter reporting on the fighting in Lille yesterday.

We told you last night how Barton was poking fun at Collymore for his Twitter and Periscope coverage of police dealing with English and Russian supporters in the French city.

The start of Euro 2016 was marred by fighting between the fans, but yesterday’s trouble paled in comparison to the violence in the streets of Marseille and the unsavoury scenes inside the stadium following England’s 1-1 draw with Russia on Saturday.

Barton sent a number of tweets about Collymore’s work in Lille yesterday, telling the former player to stop acting like a ‘war correspondent’ and get back to his job talking about the game.

And he followed that up with morning by posting a picture of Collymore’s face dropped on to an actual war correspondent:

Collymore noticed the post – hitting back with a picture of Barton while out on community service in 2009 for attacking former Manchester City team-mate Ousmane Dabo:

Barton obviously wasn’t happy about that, taking things up another level by sharing a picture of Collymore’s ex-girlfriend Ulrika Jonsson.

Collymore is still remembered for his relationship with Jonsson and how it ended after he hit her in a Paris bar in 1998.

Something Barton was prepared to poke more fun at:

We’re sure this won’t be the last time Barton and Collymore clash on Twitter.
