Manchester United announced the signing of Eric Bailly from La Liga side Villarreal this afternoon and fans are absolutely delighted about it.
The centre-back arrives as the first big-money transfer of the Jose Mourinho era, costing United in the region of £30 million.
The 22-year-old Ivory Coast international played against Liverpool in the semi-finals of last season’s Europa League, and impressed throughout the Spanish league campaign.

Obviously rated highly by Mourinho, the Portuguese coach acted in super-quick time to bring the defender in, swooping before anyone else could steal a march on United.
With the Old Trafford club still linked with a move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic but no fresh news forthcoming, the announcement of a £30 million signing has gone down particularly well with the club’s supporters.
To be fair, most of them seem as though they would’ve been happy just signing anyone:

Impressed at the speed we got Bailly done. Was a rumour on Saturday and done by Weds. Can live with that instead of the long drawn out sagas

Same feeling about Bailly signing as I did 10 months ago about Martial. Don't know much about him but hopefully we've done our homework.

How do you think he’ll fare in England? And is this the end for Daley Blind at United?
