Xherdan Shaqiri on Switzerland Strips Ripping: I Hope Puma Don’t Produce Condoms

Xherdan Shaqiri gave a funny take on Switzerland strips ripping during his country’s 0-0 draw with France last night.

A boring game between the teams was livened up by some farcical scenes involving the kit of Switzerland and one of the match balls.

New Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka had to change his strip twice after it teared, while team-mates Breel Embolo and Admir Mehmedi also had to have theirs replaced.

And with no goals on the night, the farce around the strips ended up being the biggest headline from the match.

Shaqiri was asked about the kit following the match and his response about the manufacturers was pretty funny.

The Stoke winger, per, said: “I hope Puma does not produce condoms.”

There was also a problem with one of the adidas balls used in the game as a tackle between Valon Behrami and Antoine Griezmann forced it to burst.

Both Puma and adidas will be hoping their products hold up better throughout the rest of the tournament.
