Victor Valdes has either dropped a major hint about where he will be playing his football next season… or he likes playing with our emotions.
Those are the only conclusions we can come to after the former Barcelona and Manchester United goalkeeper followed newly-promoted Middlesbrough on Twitter.
Now, you may say that lots of footballers follow different football clubs on social media.
And while that is true for many players, it doesn’t stand up with Valdes – who only follows the three clubs he has played for; Standard Liege, United and Barcelona:

Of course, it would be a massive step in the right direction for Boro if they were able to secure Valdes for their first season back in the top flight.
The 34-year-old was of course an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona which is widely recognised as the most formidable club side of the modern era.
La Liga expert Guillem Balague added meat to the bones with this Tweet, claiming Boro are interested in the shot stopper, as are teams from Portugal and Turkey:
The GK @1victorvaldes has to decide on his future. He has an offer from Portugal, one from Turkey. And Middlesbrough wants him too
