Everton Fans React to Reports They Are About to Sign Axel Witsel For £28.5 Million

Everton appear to be the front-runners for Belgium international Axel Witsel’s signature this summer and are reportedly set to seal a transfer worth £28.5m for the midfielder.

In recent days the Toffees have also been linked with Manchester United star Juan Mata, however with the deal apparently on the back burner, new manager Ronald Koeman seems set to bid for Witsel first.

The Zenit St Petersburg player was of course on international duty with Belgium this summer during Euro 2016, before his side were knocked out by Wales in the quarter finals.

Despite that surprising 3-1 defeat, Everton remain keen to recruit Witsel, as Koeman looks to revamp a squad which finished in 11th spot in the Premier League last season.

And with such a large transfer fee being talked about on social media, it was only a matter of time before the club’s fans had their say on the potential new signing:

While Witsel and Mata are rumoured to be the newest additions at Goodison Park, it remains to be seen which players will be heading for the Merseyside exit.

Both John Stones and Romelu Lukaku have been linked with transfers away from Everton this week.
