FLASH BACK

Last Sunday lightweight Lewis Ritson stopped Nathan Hardy in the 2nd round whilst super featherweight Martin Ward beat Reynaldo Cajina on points in sunny Sunderland. Ritson’s star will continue to shine and we are all looking forward to the next story on his particular journey.

The big event though was in Ekaterinburg, Russia where the WBO, IBF and WBA light heavyweight title holder Sergey Kovalev retained his title against Isaac Chilemba. Truth be told this was far from impressive and any fight, which IS coming next against Andre Ward will need to see a massive improvement for Kovalev. He claimed afterwards he was ill but the sickness needs to turn to slickness very soon.
