Celtic continue their pre-season preparations this evening with a friendly against Slovenian side NK Olimpija this evening, and it looks as though Stefan Johansen could be back in Brendan Rodgers’ plans.
As we told you at the time, news outlets in Turkey had reported as recently as yesterday that the Norwegian midfielder had agreed terms with Galatasaray ahead of a £1.1 million transfer.
Following a disappointing season in 2015/16, it looked like Johansen was on his way out of Parkhead, with rumours that his medical with the Turkish giants could have taken place as early as today.
But, by the looks of things, hose reports are far too premature, with Johansen not only in the squad for today’s match, but included in the starting line-up:
Celtic team to play @nkolimpija: Gordon; Janko, Ambrose, Sviatchenko, Tierney; Bitton, Johansen, Brown; Griffiths, Dembele, Henderson (MH)

Would you risk injuring a player you were about to sell by starting him in a meaningless friendly? We’re guessing probably not.
And the idea that any transfer is close to being announced must be wide of the mark, as Johansen is obviously still in the squad in Slovenia; he hasn’t flown back to the UK or anywhere else to sort out his future.
What do you think? Could Johansen still have a Celtic future?
