Jim White has rained on the Robin van Persie to Rangers parade that many fans are enjoying today.
The Sky Sports News presenter commented on the next big rumour to do the rounds in Scottish football this summer, coming just days after talk of Henrik Larsson’s son Jordan signing on at Ibrox was shot down by the youngster himself.
Despite van Persie’s status as one of the best strikers in the world and his astronomical earnings, bookies are continuing to slash odds on him signing for Rangers while supporters talk up the potential move.
But White has moved to dampen hopes that RVP could be a Gers player soon – tweeting that he’d received confirmation from a top club source that the story was fabricated:
A top source at @RangersFC describes link with Robin van Persie as "total fabrication"

Stop spoiling everyone’s fun, Jim!
Scottish football might not be able to pull off big moves like this, but it’s certainly enjoyable pretending that we can.
Van Persie appears to be on his way out of Fenerbahce this summer after just one year at the club, scoring 22 goals in 48 appearances.
