Marc Warren Jokes Joey Barton is Going to be His New Caddy

Marc Warren has got himself a new caddy for The Open – and Rangers fans will find him familiar.

The Scottish golfer is back in his homeland this week as the 145th Open Championship gets underway at Royal Troon on Thursday.

He was at the home of his footballing heroes tonight too, joining a host of other golfers to take on some Rangers players at Ibrox in a Callaway event.

Barton proved a big hit in his first appearance at Ibrox, coming out on top in the competition alongside Masters champion Danny Willett.

The new Gers midfielder is going to be busy this weekend when his side play Motherwell in the first game of the Scottish season.

But Barton might find himself popping down to Troon to help out Warren as he bids for his first major victory at The Open.

Warren is a big Rangers fan and joked on Twitter that he’d picked up a new caddy tonight in the shape of the English midfielder:

Of course Warren is only kidding, but it’s no surprise to see Barton is proving popular already at Ibrox.

He definitely got a better reception than Celtic fan Henrik Stenson.
