UFC 200: Brock Lesnar Defeats Mark Hunt

WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar made his triumphant return to the octagon, defeating former K-1 World Grand Prix champion Mark Hunt via unanimous decision.

Lesnar and Hunt were both visibly tired after the first round, with the second round being a toss up for either man.

But Lesnar dominated the first and third rounds, keeping Hunt on the ground and pounding away at his head. The fight was on the verge of being stopped more than once, but Hunt’s famous granite chin kept him in the fight until the end, never able to hit the knockout punch.

The formerly boastful Lesnar seemed emotional in his post-fight interview, stating that he will “take things one day at a time,” thanking the crowd and fans around the world, and ending with a shout out to the US Armed Forces and a call for unity. Mike Goldberg noted the drastic change in Lesnar’s attitude.

Also of note, Lesnar did not enter to his WWE theme, using his old UFC walkout song “Enter Sandman,” and represented Canada on his gear, as he lives and trains in rural Saskatchewan.
