The Northern Irishman already has a Claret Jug in among the four major wins in his career and, as number four in the world too, he’ll be well fancied by many to get his second.
We’ve no idea how Rory will perform as he looks for his first major win since the 2014 USPGA at Valhalla.
But we know what he’ll be wearing – as Nike have revealed his four looks for the four days of golf in Scotland.
We’re big fans of the Nike gear at talkinggolf – particularly the Lunar Control 4 shoes he’ll have on his feet for the whole tournament. He’ll also have the Nike Classic 99 hat on every day too.
You can see his Thursday (left) and Friday (right) looks here:
As for Saturday, McIlroy will be wearing the Nike MM Swing Knit Block Alpha polo in deep royal blue.
That will change to the Nike MM Fly Swing Knit Stripe Alpha polo in black for Sunday, when Rory will be hoping to lift the Claret Jug:
He’s not the only Nike golfer at The Open this week, with Paul Casey, Kevin Chappell, Tony Finau, Russell Henley, Francesco Molinari, Ross Fisher, Seung Yul Noh, Thorbjorn Olesen and Tommy Fleetwood all competing.
You can see what they’ll be wearing here.
