Adnan Januzaj has fond memories of playing at the Stadium of Light – and admits his favourite ever career goal came there against Sunderland.
The Belgian winger joined the Black Cats just over a week ago on a season-long loan from Manchester United.
And he’ll be hoping to regain the form which he showed when breaking through at Old Trafford under David Moyes, who is now his manager again at Sunderland.
Moyes handed Januzaj his first start as a United player against his new team in 2013 and it’s a game most United fans will remember.
The Red Devils were struggling under the Scottish manager, but managed to win 2-1 thanks to two brilliant goals from Januzaj – the second of which was a beautiful first-time volley.
So it’s no surprise that Januzaj picked that goal out as the favourite of his career while speaking to Sunderland’s YouTube channel earlier this week:

If Sunderland can get Januzaj back to his best then he could be a huge player for Moyes and Sunderland this season.
They’ll certainly hope he does more with them than he did with Borussia Dortmund before being sent home early by the Bundesliga giants.
