Alberto Moreno Has Liverpool Fans Fuming Before the Season Has Even Started

The new Premier League season doesn’t start for the best part of two weeks, but Liverpool fans are already fuming with left-back Alberto Moreno.

The Spaniard was signed back in the summer of 2014 to great fanfare, after playing a part in an impressive Europa League win with former club Sevilla.

But last season, Moreno’s reputation on Merseyside began to unravel, as he become synonymous with defensive errors and inexplicable mistakes.

The final straw for many fans was probably last season’s Europa League final, where Liverpool led 1-0 against Sevilla, only to lose 3-1 following a desperately poor showing from Moreno.

The Reds have been linked with buying a replacement for the 24-year-old, but with no new left-back forthcoming – and deputy Joe Gomez still injured – Moreno took up his place in the starting line-up for his side’s pre-season friendly with Roma in St. Louis.

It was Liverpool’s last match of their American tour, and A LOT of fans will be hoping they leave Moreno over there:

Quite a reaction, eh?

Are the being a tad harsh? What do you think?
