One Celtic fan had his faith in humanity restored earlier this week when a wallet he’d lost on a European trip was returned to him – almost two years after it was lost.
Back in February 2015, the Hoops were drawn against Serie A giants Inter Milan in the last-32 of the Europa League and pulled off a stunning 3-3 draw at Celtic Park, setting up a tantalising second-leg at the San Siro.
Daniel Gray, from Cumbernauld, was just one of thousands of supporters who faithfully followed their team to Italy for the return game, despite knowing they were massive underdogs.
And despite a valiant effort from Ronny Deila’s side, a late goal from Freddy Guarin condemned Celtic to a 1-0 defeat on the night, but sadly that wasn’t the low point for Daniel.
His wallet – complete with spending money, ID and his cards – was lost in the aftermath of the defeat, probably souring the entire trip.
However, unbeknown to Daniel, his wallet had actually been found, and 18 months after its disappearance, it’s now back with it’s rightful owner:
Pretty brilliant, eh?
If only there was more people in the world like Luca!
