Celtic fans reckon it’s about time Craig Gordon was benched by Brendan Rodgers.
The Scottish goalkeeper is on the bench for his side’s clash with Aberdeen at Parkhead this afternoon.
Instead, his Northern Irishman manager has decided to opt for new signing Dorus de Vries in between the sticks for what will be his first game for the club:

Gordon has had a difficult time of it recently – the error with Saidy Janko in Celtic’s Champions League defeat to Hapoel Be’er Sheva the latest in a succession of goals which could be blamed on him.
And it appears that despite saving a penalty, which turned out to be decisive in the 5-4 aggregate victory over the Israelis, supporters believe it’s about time he was benched:
Rodgers may just be resting Gordon after an intense period of football which saw Celtic compete in the Champions League, league, Betfred Cup and the International Champions Cup.
And it may be the case that he simply wants to get de Vries a game after he moved north from Nottingham Forest two weeks ago.
But Aberdeen is a big game and could be the clearest sign yet that there’s a battle on for the Celtic number one spot.
