Celtic Supporter Paolo Nutini Donates £1,000 to Fan’s Palestine Fundraiser

Celtic fans shook the world earlier this week when they raised over £100,000 to donate to Palestinian charities after UEFA opened up disciplinary action on the club following their game against Hapoel Be’er Sheva last Wednesday.

The Hoops supporters made headlines when they unveiled Palestine flags ahead of their Champions League playoff tie first leg against the Israeli champions last week.

It was only a matter of time before the big guns at UEFA had their say as they admitted they would be bringing down the hammer on the Glasgow club for displaying ‘illicit banners of a political stance’.

Rather than get upset over the impending fine, fans decided to show further solidarity with the state of Palestine as they created a funding page titled Match the fine for Palestine.

At the time of writing the total currently sits at a whopping £155,711 with that number rising with every click of the refresh button.

Now, even celebrities are getting involved after Scottish singer and songwriter Paolo Nutini donated £1,000 to the cause.
