Some Champions League Games Are Going to Be Moved to a 22:00 KO Time

In a bid to boost UEFA’s coffers even more, Champions League matches are going to be moved from their usual 19:45 KO slot to later times in order to rake in even more television revenue.

As you probably heard last week, UEFA passed through a raft of rules last week meaning there will be significant changes to the Champions League from 2018/19, including the direct qualification for all top four teams in Spain and England.

And according to German newspaper Sport Bild, Uefa intends to introduce start times of 20:00 and 22:00 for matches taking place in Europe’s premier cup competition, to give fans even more games on TV.

We currently have Friday night football, early Saturday kick-offs, Super Sunday and Monday Night Football, but apparently UEFA reckons we’re still short of options.

The new TV deal means British clubs are also unlikely to be playing at exactly the same time, unless drawn against one another.

What do you think of the changes?
