Fans Say Everton Replacing £47.5Million John Stones With £12M Ashley Williams is Amazing Business

Everton are being praised by everyone this afternoon after selling John Stones to Manchester City for £47.5million and replacing him with Ashley Williams for £12m.

While Paul Pogba’s world record £93.2m move to Manchester United is today’s biggest transfer story, Stones to City comes a close second.

He’s been linked with a move away from Goodison Park for the last few seasons and finally he’s made the step up to one of England’s biggest clubs with the £47.5m transfer.

It’s an amazing price tag which makes Stones the second most expensive defender in world football despite some inconsistent form for Everton over the last 12 months.

And that isn’t lost on football fans, with many believing that the Toffees have carried out some very impressive business if they can replace Stones with Swansea defender Williams.

The Welsh centre back is just off the back of leading his country to the Euro 2016 semi-finals and has been a consistent performer in the English Premier League since entering the top-flight in 2011.

Reports say Everton are on the verge of tying up a £12m deal for Williams – and most fans believe they’re getting a better player for £35.5m less than what City paid for Stones:
