New Champions League Ball Features Inspirational Messages From Legends

UEFA and manufacturers Adidas have sprung a surprise with the new Champions League ball for the coming season – after revealing it will feature messages scrawled by some of football’s biggest legends.

The likes of David Beckham, Luis Figo and Zinedine Zidane were all asked “how do you win your way?” to which they scribbled their answers on the panels of the balls.

As per usual, the Adidas Finale features stars, as it has done since Adidas took over from predecessors Nike in 2001.

To be fair, the new ball will probably retail in shops at around £100 a pop, so for that amount of money I’d probably be wanting a love letter from some of the game’s most famous names.

Seriously though – what do you make of the idea? Is it something that will catch on and become a mainstay in the Champions League? Or is it just a cheap marketing gimmick?
