Nir Bitton’s Agent Shows Off Pictures of Midfielder’s Nasty Looking Injury

Nir Bitton is in a race against time to be fit for this week’s crucial Champions League clash with Astana, after picking up a nasty-looking ankle injury against Barcelona at the weekend.

The Hoops will need as many options available as possible on Wednesday when the stubborn side from Kazakhstan roll into town, with the tie evenly poised at 1-1 from the first-leg.

But Israeli midfielder Bitton looks touch-and-go after injuring his ankle in a clash with Turkish defender Arda Tutan in the opening minute of the glamour friendly with Barcelona on Saturday.

He played on until the half-time interval, but judging by the picture his agent tweeted today, that probably wasn’t the wisest move:

Of course, Bitton is just one in a long line of casualties for Celtic; Jozo Simunovic, Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko have all been sidelined with various different knocks, while Kieran Tierney missed the game against Barca as a precaution.

What do you think of Bitton’s ankle? How big a miss would he be for Celtic against Astana?
