Liverpool fans might not want Mario Balotelli, but Palermo supporters definitely do.

The Italian striker is expected to leave Anfield before the end of the summer transfer window after falling way out of favour.

He spent last season out on loan at AC Milan after a poor debut campaign at the club, but scored just three goals in 23 games before returning.

Jurgen Klopp has Daniel Sturridge, Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi and Danny Ings ahead of Balotelli in the pecking order and new summer signing Sadio Mane could even be thrown in there as a striking option.

But despite being out of favour since the start of pre-season, Balotelli is yet to sort his future out.

Eight days remain in the summer transfer window and the former Inter and AC Milan striker will have to find a team that wants him before then – and it looks like Palermo could be that club.

The Rosanero have been linked with Balotelli and now the fans have shown their backing for the move by hanging a ‘Balotelli in the squad’ banner on the gates of their Stadio Renzo Barbera home:

Whether or not Palermo can get a deal in place for Balotelli remains to be seen.

He’s on high wages at Liverpool and would probably have to take a big hit in wages to sign for the club who finished 16th in the Serie A table last season.
