The 13-year-old schoolboy tragically died two weeks after collapsing during a training session with Dunbeth boys club.
William Gibb’s son Aidan was a team-mate of Kieran’s so the dad from Coatbridge knew the young Celtic fan – who was hailed by Leigh Griffiths at the weekend – well.
And William kept a promise to Kieran that he’d wear a Celtic top to a Hoops game if Dunbeth managed to win their league last season.
Gibb’s wife Nicola shared a picture on Saturday of her husband wearing the Celtic home kit with ‘McDade 8 YNWA’ on the back and confirmed he would be at Parkhead for the Aberdeen game:
That is an awesome gesture from Gibb to McDade – who has been remembered by the whole of Scottish football over the last week.
Kieran’s sister revealed at the weekend that Celtic striker Griffiths had promised to score in the 13th minute of the game and then hold up a shirt for the youngster – before going on to actually do it.
