Victor Anichebe is Signing For Arsenal?

Victor Anichebe will have gained the attention of Arsenal‘s fans after tweeting that he’s on his way to the Emirates tonight.

But we’ve absolutely no idea if the former West Brom striker is talking about the stadium in London or the United Arab Emirates.

Actually, he might just be having some fun on Twitter while fans wait desperately for their side to make a move before the transfer window shuts at 11pm.

Anichebe isn’t actually attached to a club after his release from the Hawthorns last season, but surely he’s not a late target for Arsene Wenger?

As you can see, that tweet is proving pretty popular – but we’ve absolutely no idea what the ex-Everton frontman means.

Wenger already has Olivier Giroud and new signing Lucas Perez as legitimate striking options, while Theo Walcott and Yaya Sanogo are also in back-up so there isn’t a clear lack of strikers in the Arsenal squad.

Anichebe’s goal record makes a move to the English giants unlikely too – as he’s never scored more than 10 goals in a season and couldn’t hit the back of the net in 14 appearances last season before being cut free by Tony Pulis.

Something tells us Anichebe is having a bit of fun here.

UPDATE

It appears Anichebe was just having some fun – he apparently couldn’t agree personal terms:
