Video: Connor Wickham Scores Lovely Goal v Valencia

Connor Wickham looks in good form for Crystal Palace ahead of the English Premier League season kicking off next week.

Alan Pardew’s men have been good in pre-season, losing just once in seven games, and will fancy themselves to have a strong campaign following a disappointing 15th place finish last term.

Beating Valencia in their penultimate pre-season match will only help instil more confidence in the Palace squad.

They welcomed the Spanish giants to Selhurst Park this afternoon and really impressed with the quality of their play and finishing.

Wickham has two goals to his name, netting his second from the spot after expertly diverting Pape Souare’s cross into the bottom corner inside 10 minutes.

It was a beautiful finish from Wickham – one which Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be proud of:

Palace are going into the latter stages of the friendly leading 3-0 thanks to Mile Jedinak’s penalty.

Palace play West Brom next Saturday and more quality in front of goal from Wickham will be welcome for Pardew and the Eagles supporters.
