Video: Monaco Seem Rather Chuffed That They’ve Qualified For the Champions League

Monaco edged past Villarreal and secured their place in the group stages of the Champions League thanks to an added-time penalty kick last night.

As you’d expect, the Monaco players were rather pleased with themselves after their La Liga opponents failed to score for only the third time in their last 28 UEFA fixtures.

And with the game goalless, it was a Yellow Submarine player who made a fatal error, with Mateo Musacchio’s hand ball gift-wrapping Monaco’s progression into the later stages.

Up stepped Fabinho to take the spot kick and after finding the net, the game finished 3-1 on aggregate.

And former Chelsea and Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao (who has returned to the Stade Louis II Stadium this season) uploaded this video of the team celebrating in the dressing room:

Monaco joined Celtic and Porto in making the group stages, with the Scottish champions narrowly beating Israel’s Hapoel Be’er Sheva and the Portuguese side embarrassing AS Roma 3-0.
