The English defender is Arsene Wenger’s latest signing for the club, moving from Bolton in a £2million deal just over a week ago.
He started and played the full 90 minutes in his side’s 2-1 victory over an MLS All-Star team on Friday and definitely impressed fans with an assured display.
But tonight’s performance against Chivas Guadalajara is already more memorable – because the England youth tapped home a first-half opener for his first goal for the club:
As first goals go, a tap-in like that will surely be welcome for Holden.
He’s arrived at Arsenal more for his quality in defence rather than attack, but chipping in with goals at set pieces will definitely be something Wenger and supporters of the club will welcome from the 20-year-old centre back.
Arsenal lead Chivas 1-0 going into half-time in Los Angeles.
