Arsenal Fans at Loggerheads Over What Francis Coquelin’s Injury Means to Club

Arsenal supporters’ worst fears were realised earlier today when it emerged that midfielder Francis Coquelin looks like being out for months rather than weeks following the knee injury he picked up against Chelsea on Saturday.

Or, at least, you’d think it was Arsenal supporters’ worst nightmare.

The Frenchman has been in outstanding form for Arsene Wenger’s side since the start of the Premier League season, evidenced by his recent displays.

But during the weekend win over their London rivals, Coquelin squirmed in pain after a first-half collision which seems to have left him with knee ligament damage.

He left the Emirates Stadium in a knee brace, and now, according to the Guardian, looks set to be out for at least two months.

On the face of it, the news is disastrous for Gunners’ fans, many of whom have been crying out for a player like Coquelin for years, but it turns out some aren’t too bothered by the setback – because it paves the way for new signing Granit Xhaka:

What do you think of the news? And what do you make of the reaction by some of the fans?
