Brandon Marshall Taking a Lot of Heat After Kneeling During National Anthem

Brandon Marshall Taking a Lot of Heat After Kneeling During National Anthem

Brandon Marshall is taking a lot of heat tonight after he opted to kneel during the US national anthem.

The Denver Broncos linebacker was the only player to put one knee to the ground when the anthem was played before their season opener against the Carolina Panthers.

It comes after Colin Kaepernick’s protest against the treatment of black and coloured people in the US during the San Francisco 49ers’ pre-season games.

Kaep shows no signs of stopping and, while receiving a lot of criticism for the way he’s going about supporting the issue, he’s received support from many, including fellow players – including Marshall.

As expected, the reaction to his gesture has been wild – with thousands of posts made on Twitter.

There is a lot of support for Marshall, but he’s also taking a lot of heat for what some see as a disrespectful act towards the country’s anthem and flag:

That’s just a small sample of the negative reaction to Marshall and it will be interesting to see what the Broncos man has to say when he first logs into his Twitter app post-game.

Do you support Marshall’s gesture?
