Celtic Fans Woo Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s John Ogu Following Inter Milan Victory

Hapoel Be’er Sheva midfielder John Ogu continues to grow his affiliation with Celtic fans following the Israeli club’s stunning 2-0 win against Inter Milan in the San Siro last night.

Hapoel dropped into the Europa League after losing their Champions League play-off tie to Celtic, and were subsequently drawn against Southampton, Sparta Prague and the Italian giants Inter.

Despite being the group’s underdogs, Hapoel went to the San Siro in a positive frame of mind, and strolled to a famous victory over Frank de Boer’s expensively assembled squad.

Key to the win was Ogu, a Nigerian international who played in both legs against Celtic, and was blown away by the atmosphere generated at Celtic Park:

Following Ogu’s tweet, we told you how Celtic fans had taken to social media to declare that they wanted manager Brendan Rodgers to snap up the 28-year-old, and they seem to have really taken him to heart.

Despite Celtic having absolutely no involvement in the Europa League, Hoops supporters began tweeting Ogu with congratulatory messages as news filtered though about the shock result in Italy – and Ogu seems to be loving every minute of it:

Are watching, Brendan? You could be looking at a genuine Celtic cult hero of the future here – and by the looks of things he can play a bit too!

Celtic fans – how welcome would John be for a more extended stay in Glasgow?
