Playing in front of a packed Parkhead crowd in their first home Champions League game for three years, Celtic came racing out of the blocks, with Dembele poaching a goal after just two minutes.
The 20-year-old Frenchman grabbed another in the second-half, with the tie eventually ending 3-3 on the night, and fans all over Britain raving about Dembele’s performance.
And Sutton – who enjoyed spells at both Celtic and Chelsea during his playing days – reckons Dembele has a big future ahead of him.
Speaking as a TV pundit for BT Sports, Sutton said: “The problem Brendan Rodgers is going to have is how on earth is he going to keep him here.
“He’s a little bit raw at times, he can improve his movement.
“Look at him physically as well. What I like about him is he’s not just a target type player. He will move in behind.
“He’s got a lot of development to make, but he’s not unlike a Didier Drogba.
“There’s a long way to go to become that type of player, but he’s an all-rounder!”
Of course, Drogba is lauded as probably the greatest African player of all-time, winning the Champions League, Premier League and just about everything possible during two stints at Chelsea – but is Dembele ready for those sorts of comparisons?
Moreover, does Dembele deserve such high praise? And will he soon be tempted away from Celtic by a club in England with more money?
