Erik Sviatchenko’s Shirt v Rangers Spoiled by Spelling Mistake.. But He Makes Fan’s Day

Erik Sviatchenko is among the 14 Celtic players who will savour the strip they wore to beat Rangers 5-1 at the weekend.

But the Danish defender’s memory will be spoiled slightly after his name was misspelled by whoever printed it on the back of his jersey before the game.

Saturday was a memorable day for all involved with the Scottish champions as they hit five past their rivals in a commanding display.

Moussa Dembele got a hat-trick for the Hoops, while Scott Sinclair and Stuart Armstrong also got on the scoresheet after Joe Garner pulled one back for Rangers.

A 5-1 result will always be remembered by fans and players will be left in no doubt how important the scoreline was.

So spare a thought for Sviatchenko, who probably won’t want to get his strip framed:

But not all was lost for Sviatchenko – as he made the day of a young fan by giving the strip to her.

Patsy Skelton – who plays for Celtic’s Under-11 team – shared a tweet about how much the Dane’s gift means to her:

A worn strip with a misspelled name on the back is pretty rare so it’s certainly one to cherish for the young Celtic fan.
