The official FIFA 17 ratings for the Rangers squad have been revealed today, with bad-boy Joey Barton being handed the highest overall in the team.
Rangers were of course a notable absentee from last year’s game, after the club couldn’t reach a licensing agreement with software giant EA Sports.
However, the Gers are making a return to FIFA this year, having secured promotion to the top flight of Scottish football last season.
And with Mark Warburton’s side involved, attention has immediately turned to the overall each player has in the game, from Lee Wallace, to Harry Forrester and even Wes Foderinham.
Ultimately, FIFA has handed Barton, who was suspended by the club for three weeks yesterday, the honour of being the top-rated player in the squad with an overall of 76.
It’s surely a controversial decision, especially considering the English midfielder may never play for Rangers again.
Barton reportedly refused to apologise to Warburton after being involved in a training ground bust up with Andy Halliday following the humiliating loss to fierce rivals Celtic.
Fellow new signing Niko Kranjcar isn’t far behind the former Manchester City star on 75, while club captain Wallace rounds up the top three with a rating of 73:
What are your thoughts?
Is Clint Hill really a better player than Gers favourite Halliday?
What about the veteran Kenny Miller, should the ex-Scotland striker be better in this year’s game?
